Raid on Riposte from Lock ’n Load Publishing drops players into a tense Cold War battlefield where a surprise invasion has ignited a brutal fight for control of a key West German city. Set during a fictional 1985 conflict between NATO and Warsaw Pact forces, the game recreates the desperate struggle for the strategic city of Tannenbruck and its vital river crossing.

Soviet paratroopers have seized the city in a bold operation and must now hold their position against determined counterattacks by West German and United States forces. The defenders rely on surprise, discipline, and strong defensive positions while NATO commanders bring armor, infantry, and air support to break through the Soviet line and reclaim the city before reinforcements arrive.

Raid on Riposte is a fast-playing operational wargame designed for quick setup and accessible gameplay while still delivering meaningful tactical decisions. Units represent companies, platoons, and specialized teams such as anti-tank missile units, snipers, artillery batteries, and command leaders. Tanks, helicopters, airstrikes, and special forces add additional depth as the battle unfolds across the city and surrounding countryside.

Players must carefully manage action points, coordinate combined arms attacks, and exploit terrain advantages as they maneuver forces across the area movement map. Each turn represents several hours of combat, creating a dynamic battle where momentum can shift quickly as new units arrive and key positions change hands.
