The Golan is high ground with a road behind it. Lose the high ground on the first day and there is very little between the Syrians and everything else.

Take the Syrians and break through, or take the Israelis and do not.

Tank platoons, infantry, anti-tank teams, helicopters and supporting arms, across the ground between Tel Hermonit and Booster. A counter is a platoon and a turn is half an hour to an hour, so the decisions are about where to be rather than what to shoot at.

Two Very Different Jobs

The Syrian player has the weight and the initiative and has to convert both before the moment passes. The Israeli player has almost nothing and wins by trading ground slowly enough that the reserves arrive in time to matter.

Fast Decisions, Lasting Consequences

Manoeuvre, fire combat, artillery and air support, and close assault when it comes to that. Leadership, position and timing decide most of it, and a platoon in the wrong place is not coming back to the right one.
