Exploring Heroes of Normandy

The Greatest Invasion Starts Here

From the Normandy Beaches into Germany Itself

The award-winning Lock ’n Load Tactical Series moves into Western Europe in 1944 with Heroes of Normandy. You step into the largest amphibious invasion in history and follow the campaign from the early hours of D-Day through the dense Norman bocage and into the bold advance of Operation Market Garden.

This edition combines Band of Heroes and Swift and Bold into one complete, battle-ready game. Inside, you receive 30 scenarios, more than 650 die-cut counters, detailed maps, player aids, and the core rules set. Each scenario recreates historical engagements with accurate units, terrain, and tactical challenges drawn from real operations.

Airborne Assault and Relentless Defense

You command American and British paratroopers and glider troops in high-risk missions behind enemy lines. Secure bridges before demolition charges are set. Hold crossroads against armored counterattacks. Clear fortified towns one building at a time.

Opposing you are seasoned formations of the German Wehrmacht, elite SS units, and hardened Fallschirmjägers. They defend hedgerows, villages, and key road networks with discipline and deadly firepower.

Squad Level Tactical Combat

Heroes of Normandy focuses on squad-level leadership and decision-making. Infantry squads anchor every engagement. Leaders rally broken troops, direct fire, and press assaults. Heroes emerge in critical moments and shift the momentum of the battle.

You direct a wide range of historic weapons systems:

• Machine guns including the M1919A4, Vickers, MG34, and MG42
• Anti-tank weapons such as Bazookas, PIATs, and Panzerfausts
• Heavy mortars and anti-tank guns ranging from the American 57mm to the German 88mm
• Engineers, medics, snipers, and support teams that add depth to every engagement

Armor Warfare Across Western Europe

Tanks dominate open ground and narrow roads alike. M4A1 Shermans, M5A1 Stuarts, Fireflies, and Cromwells engage Panzer IIIs, Panzer IVs, Panthers, and Tigers in close-range duels. Armor must coordinate with infantry to clear towns, break defensive lines, and hold captured ground.

The Battlefield Itself Is the Enemy

Normandy hedgerows restrict visibility and movement. Villages become fortified strongpoints. Narrow causeways and bridges create natural choke points. During Market Garden, airborne forces must hold isolated objectives while awaiting relief from advancing ground units.

Every scenario forces you to balance timing, firepower, and maneuver. Initiative shifts quickly. A single failed assault or well-placed machine gun can change the outcome of the fight.

Heroes of Normandy delivers fast-paced, historically grounded, squad-level tactical combat. You command real units, on real terrain, in operations that shaped the course of the war in Western Europe.
