Tigers and T-34s, West of Prokhorovka

July 1943, the third year of the invasion, and the Battle of Kursk is starting. Some of the worst of it happens on a few square miles west of Prokhorovka.

You take the Soviet defenders, or the 1st SS Panzergrenadier Division Leibstandarte Adolf Hitler coming at them.

Ground That Was Prepared for You

New rules cover anti-tank ditches, low wheat, tank emplacements and roadblocks. The Soviets have had time to dig, and every one of those things is a decision you have to make before your armour is committed rather than after.

Killing a Tank by Hand

New weapons put the hand-held RPG-43 anti-tank grenade and anti-tank mines in play, so infantry in the right place can stop something that outguns everything they own.

The Real Battlefield

The maps join into one historical battlefield covering Hill 252.2, the Soviet trenches to the east and the Oktiabrski State Farm to the north. It is the ground as it was, not a generic hill and a wood.

Dark July 43 is an expansion module in the award winning Lock 'n Load Tactical series. It is not a complete game, and Heroes of the Motherland is required to play it.
