Against the Odds: Battle for the Golan Heights from Lock ’n Load Publishing places you in command during one of the most dramatic armored clashes of the modern era. The game recreates the opening days of the 1973 Yom Kippur War when Syrian forces launched a massive assault across the Golan Heights against heavily outnumbered Israeli defenders.

You command tank platoons, infantry units, anti-tank teams, helicopters, and supporting arms as the battle unfolds across a detailed hex map representing a critical sector of the Golan Heights between Tel Hermonit and Booster. Each counter represents platoon-level units, while turns represent roughly thirty minutes to one hour of battlefield action.

The Syrians begin the battle with a powerful offensive force and the initiative. Israeli units must delay the attack, hold key terrain, and buy time for reinforcements to arrive. Syrian commanders must break through the defensive line and push toward critical objectives before Israeli resistance stiffens.

Against the Odds focuses on fast tactical decision-making. Players maneuver armor and infantry, conduct fire combat, call in artillery and air support, and attempt close assaults to seize or defend key terrain. Leadership, positioning, and timing play a critical role as both sides fight for control of the battlefield.

The game includes a battlefield map, platoon-level unit counters, player aid cards, and a rulebook with scenarios that recreate the desperate struggle between Israeli and Syrian forces during the early days of the war.
