The General’s words to the young colonel standing inches in front of him rang out, steady and even, yet somehow more thunderous than a howitzer. “We grossly outnumber NATO’s Northern Army Group in tanks, guns, troops, even aircraft. When we deem to finish them off, we will crush them as swiftly and mercilessly as we have these last few days. But if we do not seize the Weser, and subsequently the Rhine bridges, then this offensive stops right here in West Germany. This war, this righteous war for the security of our Motherland, will grind to a halt and drag out for who knows how long.”
“So be bold! Be audacious! Take the bridges, secure our advance, and I will reinforce your success. Otherwise...”
“… Otherwise, Comrade-General?”
The General tut-tutted, almost absolutely downplaying the seriousness of his answer.
“We die.”
OPERATION RED GAUNTLET is an expansion pack for BLOOD AND FURY, the latter being the SECOND volume in The WORLD AT WAR 85 SERIES of games of fast and furious platoon-level combat. Set in 1985, in an alternate history of World War III, when the Warsaw Pact armies storm across the border of East Germany in a powerful attempt to seize northern West Germany, and the whole of Free Europe. OPERATION RED GAUNTLET features nine new game maps and five new scenarios. Four of the scenarios in this expansion can be played with maps from it as well as units and maps from Blood and Fury. One of the expansion scenarios uses eight of the new maps and you will need Volume 1 of the series, Storming the Gap, and its expansions, the Defense of Frankfurt, and Storm and Steel.
New scenarios include:

Scenario 18: Red Lightning - Minden: North
Scenario 19: Cracking the Neesen Bridgehead
Scenario 20: Death from Above
Scenario 21: Operation Red Gauntlet
Requirement: To play scenario 21, you need WaW85 Volume 1, Storming the Gap, and the Storming the Gap Expansion games.
