Solo Assistant
Your Opponent, in a Box
The hardest part of a good wargame is finding somebody with a free afternoon and the same rulebook.
This gives you the other side, across two series.
A deck of action cards runs the enemy commander. It reads the state of the board, where your units are and what matters, and then decides, and you do not know what it decided until the card turns over. Set how aggressive or defensive it is before you begin, and the same scenario comes out differently the third time you play it.
Two Series, Two Scales
Nations At War gives you platoon-level Second World War fighting with infantry, tanks and artillery. World At War 85: Storming the Gap gives you battalion-level mechanised warfare in a Cold War that went hot. The Solo Assistant runs the enemy in either.
No Extra Bookkeeping
It drops into the rules you already know. Draw the cards and play. There is no separate system to learn and nothing to track on the side.
The Solo Assistant is an expansion module. You will need a Nations At War or World At War 85 game to use it. Note that the newer titles in both series ship with their own Solo Assistant already.
