Nuklear Winter 68
Discover the Thrilling World of Nuclear Winter 68
War Rises from the Ashes of Nuclear Winter
Nuklear Winter ’68 is a tactical platoon-level wargame from Lock ’n Load Publishing set in a dark alternate history where the Second World War ended in nuclear devastation. Europe has been transformed into a radioactive wasteland known as “The Zone,” a shattered landscape of ruined cities, toxic rivers, and frozen battlefields where a new war for survival begins.
More than twenty years after the nuclear exchange that devastated Germany, surviving forces begin to emerge from underground bunkers. Nazi remnants attempt to rebuild their empire from the ruins around Wewelsburg Castle, while a joint NATO expeditionary force moves into the Zone to investigate and halt the growing threat. Both factions soon discover they are not alone. The mysterious Black Hand, strange and dangerous masters of the irradiated wastelands, rise from the shadows to challenge both sides.
Nuklear Winter ’68 places players in command of infantry, armored vehicles, aircraft, and artillery as they fight across devastated terrain shaped by nuclear war. Tactical decisions matter at every step as players maneuver platoons, coordinate formations, and bring devastating firepower to bear on the battlefield. The system models combined-arms warfare involving infantry, tanks, helicopters, and close air support, all playing critical roles in the fight for control of the Zone.
The game includes multiple scenarios that can be linked together to form a larger campaign centered around the struggle for control of Wewelsburg and the surrounding wasteland. Each engagement presents unique tactical challenges as players balance mobility, firepower, and leadership in a harsh post nuclear environment.
Nuklear Winter ’68 delivers a dramatic blend of historical warfare, alternate history, and science fiction. Commanders must survive radiation-scarred battlefields, confront mysterious enemies, and determine the future of a world struggling to rise from the ashes of nuclear war.
