Lock 'n Load Tactical: Noville Bastogne's Outpost
Explore Noville Bastogne: A Tactical Board Game Experience
Hold Noville. Hold the Line!
Stand Fast in the Ardennes
In December 1944, in the freezing forests of the Ardennes, Germany launched a surprise offensive that became known as the Battle of the Bulge. Snow, fog, and bitter cold covered the battlefield as German armored columns drove west toward the Meuse River.
On December 19 and 20, the small Belgian town of Noville, northeast of Bastogne, became a critical strongpoint. There, Team Desobry, a patchwork force of American tankers, infantry, and paratroopers from the 101st Airborne, stood in the path of the German advance.
For two relentless days, these outnumbered defenders fought the powerful 2nd Panzer Division and 26th Volksgrenadier Division. The combat raged in darkness and fog, across open roads and frozen fields, at rifle range and in close quarters. Every hour they held bought time for Bastogne.
Historically Accurate Battlefield
Noville, Bastogne’s Outpost is an expansion for Lock ’n Load Tactical: Heroes of Normandy. The battles unfold on a large, historically accurate map of Noville and its surrounding high ground and road networks. Terrain plays a decisive role as armored columns attempt to break through narrow approaches and defensive positions cling to key crossroads.
Play Individual Scenarios or Campaign
You can play each scenario on its own or link them together as a campaign. Campaign rules allow units to carry over between battles and introduce your own personal Hero. As he survives engagements, his abilities improve, adding continuity and tension to every decision.
Expanded Rules and Equipment
This module introduces special rules that reflect the harsh winter conditions and chaotic fighting of the Bulge:
• Fog that limits visibility and disrupts coordination
• Mud and bogging rules that threaten armored movement
• New support weapons such as sticky bombs
• Additional vehicles for both sides
American forces fielded the M4A3E8 Easy Eight Sherman, the M18 Hellcat tank destroyer, the M3A2 half-tracks, and the M8 armored cars. German forces deploy SdKfz 251/9 Stummel half-tracks and the formidable Jagdpanther V, among others.
Every impulse matters. A delayed assault or stalled tank can shift the balance. Hold the crossroads. Delay the advance. Buy time for Bastogne.
