Heroes of Normandy - The Untold Stories, Book 1

Thousands of Stories, Not One Battle

The landings are the part everybody knows. What happened in the fields behind them, for weeks afterwards, mostly is not.

These are the smaller engagements of the Normandy campaign, told from inside them. Omaha and Utah, then the bocage, where the hedgerows turn a countryside into a maze with a machine gun in it. SS counterattacks, ambushes in ground you cannot see across, and night raids. Both sides get told.

Written From the Ground

The accounts run through commanders, infantry and tank crews, each of them with a different problem and a different amount of information about it. The history is there, but it arrives as something happening to somebody rather than as a paragraph.

If You Play the Game

The stories sit in the Lock 'n Load Tactical universe, so they double as scenario ideas and as context for engagements you have already fought on the table.
